Uptown Butte BID Coordinator
Reports To: Board of Directors
Position Type: Part-time (20-30 hours a week) with potential to grow to a full-time position; 1099 employee
Location: Must be located in Butte, MT

Job Summary
This position holds (and updates with the board) the strategic vision for the BID and is responsible for day-to-day/week-to-week coordination for the Business Improvement District (BID). Working closely with the BID Board of Directors, the coordinator is responsible for following through with the programs, created and guided by the board, that enhance the district’s economic viability, cleanliness, safety, and overall appeal. This role supports the collaborative relationship between the district’s business/property owner community, city/county officials and departments, strategic partners (such as BLDC, Mainstreet Uptown Butte, and the Chamber of Commerce), and residents to cultivate a vibrant, welcoming urban center.
Key Responsibilities
1. Board Meetings
Attend all meetings
Create agendas and make sure they are sent to the city in the appropriate time frame.
Send out meeting invites to the Board with current meeting agenda and past meeting minutes (taken by the board secretary)
Have financial statements and progress reports prepped for regular board meetings • Quickbooks, non-profit
2. Annual Meeting Coordination

Wayfinding
Public Art
Clean and Safe: 1. Garbage Cans 2. Snow Removal 3. Graffiti, Lighting, Parking
4. Stakeholder Relations
Advocacy for BID members
Business attraction and retention – i.e. collaborate with the BLDC and Chamber
Provide support and information to BID property owners/businesses – potential, new, existing – liaison between city departments to streamline services and district issues
Work with the Urban Forestry Board and other boards that operate or affect things within our BID boundary

Assessments and renewal
Budgeting – work withTreasurer to develop, manage, and monitor the annual operating budget, ensuring maximum ROI on assessment revenues.
Revenue Diversification – work with Board Chair to identify and pursue alternative funding sources, including (but not limited to) corporate sponsorships, municipal/state/federal grants, and fundraising events/campaigns
Phone for the organization or at least a phone number, and possibly a laptop
Qualifications & Experience
Experience: Social media (instagram, facebook, tiktok), website, Gmail-email, Canva and other content creation programs
Diplomatic Acumen: Ability to navigate political environments and build consensus among diverse stakeholders with competing priorities.
Financial Literacy: Demonstrated experience managing budgets, understanding non-profit accounting principles, and writing successful grant proposals.
Communication Abilities: public speaking, writing, and presentation skills.

Hourly Wage - ($20-$30/hour; 20-30 hours/week); dependent on experience, qualifications and achievement in fundraising/diversifying BID revenues
